When living in the Barossa Valley you learn there are some pretty major differences in soil, micro climate and vines – and that is even before you consider the history of the people who have lived here for generations of farming. One place that a lot of people talk about is the Western Ridge, an area often driven through when entering the Barossa and not featured on wine lists around the country.

 

The Western Ridge Dwellers is a discovery tour of wine producers and cellar doors in this unique pocket of the Barossa with it’s mineral soils and harsh micro climate (often referred to locally as ‘the desert’) but also unique styles. The people out on the ridge are hard working types that face a different part of the Barossa that you will love to share time and again at dinner parties and barbecues of the future.

  • 11.15 am – 12.15 pm: Wine Legend #2
  • 12.30 – 1.30 pm: Wine Legend #3 – Food Platter lunch
  • 1.45 – 2.45 pm: Wine Legend #4
  • 3.00 – 4.00 pm: Wine Legend #5
  • 4.15 – 5.00 pm: Local Gin or Brewery tasting
  • 5.15 pm: return to your accomodation
